Office Clearance for Chartered Accountant’s Facilities Manager

Requirements

To clear an entire floor of office equipment in order to re-use the space. The Facilities Manager was under time constraints to have this done quickly. There were huge quantities of desks, filing cabinets, tables chairs, IT and WEEE waste.

Obstacles

The challenge was to do this in a timely manner whilst other areas of the building was still in use. A major obstacle was the parking of multiple trucks. There was no room to put a skip in the car park.

Solution

The building was cleared in time and with no disruption to other users. We also completed the final and noisiest part of the clearance out of hours to create as little disruption as possible. We put extra bodies onto the job than we normally would to speed it up and reduce disruption. We also worked over part of the weekend so that it was clear for the Monday.

Outcome

The building was cleared by the Monday allowing a seamless transition for the facilities managers. A huge number of the various items were donated as well as being taken to the timber recyclers. Our waste audit showed we achieved recycling rates in excess of 90% as well as completing it on time.
